Native Bee Garden Kit – Support Our Pollinators

Created in partnership with the Byron Bay Herb Nursery, this kit is designed to grow plants that nurture native bees – and to honour the deep cultural significance of these incredible pollinators.

Each kit includes:

• 2 seed varieties: Borage and Alyssum – both loved by bees

• Coffee Compost Mix – nutrient-rich and sustainably made

• Recycled Coffee Cups – ready to grow, right from the box

This kit has been assembled with care at the Byron Bay Herb Nursery. Both Lifecykel and the Herb Nursery are proudly based in Byron Bay and have united to promote the health of bees, while educating and inspiring communities to support biodiversity through conscious gardening.

For thousands of years, Aboriginal people have recognised native bees as a sacred source of nourishment and utility – a gift from Mother Earth.

Honey from native bees was not only a cherished food, but also held ceremonial and medicinal importance. It was offered to elders as a sign of deep respect, and its wax and resin were used to bind stone tools, seal water-carrying baskets, and treat wounds for their anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties.

During wedding ceremonies, men were adorned with honey and feathers, reflecting the honeybee’s role in spiritual and community life.

This kit is more than a garden – it’s a celebration of culture, sustainability, and the powerful connection between people, plants, and pollinators. Perfect for anyone wanting to make a positive environmental impact while honouring Australia’s Indigenous heritage.
